Are there really ghosts?

Posted by rivercityps on February 15, 2009 at 11:01 PM

I'm not sure if I believe in the paranomal or not,  There are so many people that do believe and have had experiences.  I would like to hear about experiences people have had.  Perhaps some day I will have my own experience.

The best way to explore the paranormal is to keep an open mind and do lots of research.Seek it out and it will show itself.Trust me, I didn't believe until I searched for it.Yes ghosts are real, I have seen some. I now believe.Ask me about my experiences.

I agree with you about having an open mind. And like so many people say, "just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there". Ghost Hunters, Taps, has really opened my eyes. I used to be so quick to explain everything due to electrical or imagination. Now I am not so quick to make sudden judgements and I want to learn so much about spirits or ghosts. I hope you are right about "seek it out and it will show itself". Because I feel I am ready.

beagles:I like TAPS very much.It shows that a lot can be debunked and they search for honest truth and proof.I watch it faithfully and there are times when they really proove something but it still doesnt convince them! I laugh at them because sometimes they say "I cant really say that it is haunted" and stuff is happening. I think that is why I like them so much. If they say a place is haunted, IT IS!!!

Exactly, Steph! My husband is such a nonbeliever and says that what happens on the show is fake. My son watches it with me. We were both skeptics, probably just trying to comfort ourselves. But after seeing the evidence and how they prove that there was no human involvement.....well, I'm getting closer to being a full believer.
My husband has never seen a full episode. Certain episodes are so mind boggling, I'll never forget them. I have caught myself so glued and close to the TV!
will have to check what episodes they are and mention them next time.

I am trying to find the episode where they investigated the Sorell-Weed house in Savannah, Georgia. I went there for vacation and had a huge experience at that house. TAPS said that it was definitely haunted. I know it is. The experience that I had was amazing.I'd love to tell ya about it. We moved to Savannah in August but couldn't find jobs so had to move back. The economy is so bad down there, there just are not good jobs that paid well enough for us to pay for our $1200.00 apartment.I loved it there. Savannah has a huge history for being the most haunted city in the world. I don't know about being the MOST but it definitely has many paranormal tendancies. We need to somehow find more people to log on to this website.I know there are many people in this area that have experienced things especially in Keokuk where the houses had Civil War soldiers etc...I am glad that I found a place that can learn from my own paranormal experiences.

Thanks Steph for the reminder. I usually watch the reruns until LOST comes on, then back to GH. What is your opinion about GHI? I don't really like it that much.
My 2 favorite GH were both in light houses. Something about light houses.
One was at a Coast Guard light house that was only approachable by boat and upstairs after Grant left, the chair he was sitting in moved...ALOT!!
And the second light house was where they recorded movement, shadows, up them upstairs. I have seen that one a few times and it never stops amazing me!
Do you know which ones I am talking about? I need to try and look up the names of the light houses.

beagles3, yes I know which ones you are speaking of! I don't like GHI as much as the TAPS crew but GHI is better than the ones with the three guys that get locked in to the place overnight and cant leave. They are fools and are just too dramatic.I dont believe what they say and there is hardly ever any proof.Do you know which I am talking about? It's called Ghost Adventures and is on channel 56.I cant remember what day.I dont usually try that hard to watch it.Do you know who the "owner" of this website is?

I just saw one of my favorite Ghost Hunters episode-the St. Augustine Lighthouse in Florida. The video they got was amazing! That's what every paranormal investigator is wanting to capture.

Have you had any calls for investigations yet?

Yes, we have received a few. We will soon be going on a couple of local investigations and will report our findings here on the website.
I'm glad warmer weather is on the way, to give us more opportunities.
But, please pass the word around that we are interested in doing investigations. I feel the more we do, the more comfortable we will get and better at using the equipment.

I always beleived a little something extra came with my 130 year old home when it was purchased, Having had Borderline paranormal things happen daily. After what happened on 10/30 theres nolonger any doubt in my mind.. while i was standing in the hallway at the bottom of my stairs i felt a very cold hand on my back which lingered for about a min Just as i felt it lift i heard footsteps running up my stairs. I hear footsteps on a near daily basis.. just never so clearly before..

Perhaps you should have RCPS investigate? Have you asked for any spirits to show themselves? Perhaps you don't want to. That is really creepy. Footsteps are amazing. How often do you hear them? Perhaps you could leave some flour on one of the steps.

I'm a believer but have only experienced good natured spirits.my husband & I raised our 3 kids in his grandparents house. His Grandpa had died there Xmas Eve 1969.we lived there from 87 to 2007.every once in awhile u could smell old spice.my husband said. That was his Cologne.we also had issues with the hallway light not wanting to work. Again grandpa lankford wanted that light turned off most of the time we were told.then we decided to sale the house. The new owner was tearing it down to make parking lot.our daughter read the abstract & found out original owner had died Xmas Eve back inthe 40s !! So we actually had 2 ghosts. The day we were given the check we were in bed watching TV & the TV would change channels by itself. I would pick up remote & turn it back to my program & it would change again it wasn't until I said " I told u two u are welcome to move with us! " that the TV stayed on 1 channel! We now live in Salem ia & have a new experiance with spirits any given day! These also seem to be of a friendly nature.we would be interested in info about our little friends.Orbs I heard of them & never really gave them much thought other than they showed up in pictures quite often.at our house that's an understatement!!! We have a security camera in order to watch out for coons & critters getting in our garbage.1night there was an orb that came right up to camera.that was the night my husband was convinced. That particular orb was very active.it would spin so had it lost its round shape.since then I've come to the conclusion that each one has its own personality.we have 100 minutes of my husband sitting on porch &an orb just hanging out with him. They are more than soap bubbles or electric whatever.because they respond to us. They jump at a camera shutter & if my husband would put his hand out this film clearly demonstrates an orb resting in his hand. Not to mention sitting on his shoulder, following him around the yard & to the door. It appears to be well hanging out with a homey! People don't believe us til they come see 1st hand. Orbs are awesome! They also are curious creatures. Myself & family members watched a bunch of them including a chain of 3 surroud my husbands newly purchesed Harley which was under a cover. They acted like they wanted to see under the tarp so we took it off + yes they were all over that bike. Proves they have good taste too. Some one please fill us in on the whole orb. Thing!!
